Disappearing Landscape Waterfalls
One Of The Hottest Trends In Water Gardening
Looking for a great landscape idea in Northern CT, or the Hampden County, Western Massachusetts area?
It might be difficult to imagine a waterfall and stream without a pond. Where does the water go? A Disappearing Backyard Pondless® Waterfall works much like a regular pond. The hole, deeper than a normal pond, is dug then lined with rock and gravel and filled with water. The water is then circulated from beneath the rocks and gravel by a pump that sits on the bottom, inside a Snorkel™ Vault and Centipede™ Module. A pipe runs from there up to a BioFalls™ Filter and into an overflowing waterfall, where it falls back into the reservoir. Since the water level never pools above the level of the rock and gravel fill, it gives the appearance of a waterfall without a pond, when in fact, the "pond" is there but not visible.
The Pondless® Waterfall has made many water-lovers who were previously unable to indulge in the sweet sounds of falling water, very happy. It's a great alternative for those who are trying to get their feet wet, or looking to fit a little bit of paradise into their own backyard. In other words, when all else fails…go Pondless®! Ask us about adding a FOUNTAINSCAPE to your pondless waterfalls.
Pondless (Also called Disappearing) water feature systems are perfect for schools, businesses and those who want a front yard water feature, travel frequently, have young children or limited space and low maintenance requirements. It's called a disappearing pondless waterfall because the water does not form a pond but instead disappears into an underground pondless reservoir beneath rock and gravel.
Testimonials
Certified Aquascape Contractor
Now, for those of you who want a backyard waterscape, but aren’t sure about a pond, there’s the pondless waterscape. This unique waterscape system includes the waterfall, stream, rocks and gravel, and aquatic plants -- all of which you would normally have with a pond -- but without the pond and fish.
It’s called a disappearing pondless waterfall because the water level never pools above the level of the rock and gravel fill, giving it the appearance of a disappearing waterfall and stream. The water is captured in an underground basin, which houses the pump equipment, and is lined and filled with rock and gravel. The pondless pump chamber is strong enough to support 10 adults!
The water is circulated from beneath the rocks and gravel by the concealed submersible pump and travels through an underground pipe to the waterfall, down the stream and empties into the pondless waterfall basin.
The pondless waterfall is virtually maintenance-free. It may be set to run on a timer and have an auto-fill to replace evaporated water. There is no ecological need to run the pondless waterfalls energy-efficient waterscapes system continuously, versus a pond, which is a living, breathing ecosystem that needs constant oxygen, just like humans.
